Kind Words “Charlotte you have brought the light back into my life, thank you for being there for me” “Thank you everything you have done for me; you helped me acknowledge that I was a victim of a crime and I have nothing to feel shame or guilt about. With your help, I have let go, rebuilt and moved on” “I have received counselling from Charlotte and found her to be incredibly professional and knowledgeable. I felt completely comfortable and safe to open up to her because she listened to me in such a caring, non-judgemental way. Mr Tim Grivell

I offer individual 50-minute sessions in Belper - time dedicated solely to you in which you can share whatever feels important to talk about at the time; there is no need to worry about wasting either my time or yours. Everything we discuss is confidential, and I will not pressure you to share more than you feel able to. Considering counselling for the first time can be a daunting prospect, especially if you don't know what to expect. Counselling can be short-term or long-term, and we will talk about your expectations, hopes and concerns when we first meet, with no obligation to continue. If you are struggling with events or feelings that are weighing you down, or just need an impartial and friendly face to 'vent' to, then as an integrative counsellor I can help by offering the time and space in which to explore these thoughts and emotions together with you. There is no shame in seeking someone to talk to if it feels like you are struggling to function with all the emotional 'clutter' in your life, it is just important to feel comfortable when doing so.

Mr Ben Scanlan

I firmly believe that everybody struggles at times, and that it's ok to ask for help when that happens.  I became a psychotherapist as a result of my own experiences, and through a desire to help people. What I try and provide is a safe, professional relationship where you can explore what it's like to be you in your life and how you can move forward.  This can sometimes be a short process, or a more open ended one. For me psychotherapy is a commitment on both of our parts to be real, honest, and open to exploring anything and everything which comes up.  I offer either face to face psychotherapy, or via the internet, to adults, adolescents or couples.

Miss Carole Traole

My belief as a therapist is that every human being is basically healthy. However, due to situations and circumstances, as we go through life, we develop patterns that don't serve us well. I can help you identify these patterns, and, with increased awareness, help you come out of them and lead a more optimal and productive life.  I provide an open, safe and supportive space that recognises that the relationship between me and you is significant in creating conditions for growth. I work holistically with you as you are present. Together, with practice and awareness, we collaboratively explore your unhelpful patterns with the aim of developing new, more beneficial ways of being. In this way, I intend to support you in taking charge of shaping your life and reaching your full human potential.

Mr Jon Howarth

If you're anxious, depressed, having relationship difficulties or just trying make sense of your life, by considering counselling you’ve taken the first step towards change. And you may well be wondering  - will this work for me? The good news is that studies show that the majority of clients see some benefit from counselling and therapy. The first step is to make contact. I offer is a confidential, safe space to explore what’s going on for you, whether it’s something that's happening in your life right now or issues from the past that you’ve never be able to resolve. It’s a collaborative approach where we go at your pace. Here are some answers to other questions you might have: How much will it cost? I charge £30 for an initial meeting and then £40 for subsequent 50 minute sessions. Will you be able to help me? I have successfully worked with adults and adolescents (16+) facing a range of difficulties, it’s something we can discuss in our initial session. If we feel there isn’t a fit I’ll try and suggest another counsellor or service that may be more suitable. How long does it take to feel better? You’re an individual and although other people may have faced similar difficulties before it’s different for everyone. We can talk about what might work for you in our initial meeting. Where will we meet? I work from a dedicated counselling room in the centre of Northampton, there are several public car parks offering free parking within 5 minutes walk. How do I move things forward? We can first speak on the phone to set up an meeting where I can begin to understand what you’re trying to deal with and you can see what it might be like for us to work together. If I'm in a session you'll hear my answer machine but please leave a message, I return most calls the same day. Alternatively please email me with your contact number and I'll call you back.

Miss Natalie Fisher

Counselling provides a confidential space which enables thoughts and feelings to be expressed. Presenting an opportunity to discover oneself through support and trust. It creates an exploration of building awareness, identifying patterns of behaviour and having a safe environment to reflect without feeling judged. It can impact on ones life to feel more confident, self assured and more able to cope with life. I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work at my private practice in Farnham where I counsel adults and young people. In addition to my private practice, I work as a child and adult counsellor at a school in Staines where I counsel the children aged 5-11 and members of staff.  I believe that personal development and self-awareness is important to help others and therefore I continue to read and attend training courses. I am an integrative, person centred, relational counsellor and provide one to one counselling for adults and young people. I trust in the process, looking at your needs and wants in life, working towards self actualisation and self fulfilment. Together we build a trusting relationship to work through issues and matters which may be causing unsettled thoughts and feelings. Exploring and becoming aware will help in the process of growth and development to look to a positive future.
