Gill Jackson

Professional Counsellor

Hi, I am Gill. I support adults and young adults with anxiety and/or depression. I am inclusive and neuro-affirming. I qualified in 2007 and have been supporting people with their mental health since then. More recently, I have explored my own neurodivergence, and I am happy to support all neurodiversity's within my practice.

Personal Touch

I have 3 children whom I adore and spend as much time with as possible. I enjoy walks and crochet.

I work with adults and young adults who are experiencing anxiety and/or depression. I work in a neuro-affirming and inclusive way.

Background

I qualified in 2007 in integrative counselling. Since then, I have gone on to add other strings to my bow in the form of Family and Couples therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, ADHD Coaching, ADHD Assessment and Diagnosis as well as Clinical Supervision for my peers. I once attended the Queens garden party because of my work within care homes. And I have been lucky enough to win a number of counselling-related awards. I love what I do and hopefully this shines through in my work.

Therapy Approach

I am integrative in my approach, utilising a range of skills and tools to tailor my practice to my clients' needs. I tend to use person-centred, coaching, solution-focused focused and CBT tools. I also use EFT and meditations where appropriate .

Integrative or Holistic Therapy

Integrative or Holistic Therapy combines practices and theories from various therapeutic approaches to fit the needs of the individual client.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-Centered Therapy, developed by Carl Rogers, emphasizes a non-directive, empathetic approach that empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation refers to the process of providing education and information to those seeking or receiving mental health services, such as diagnoses, treatment options, and coping strategies for dealing with mental health.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic Therapy focuses on individual potential and stresses the importance of growth and self-actualization.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a treatment focusing on changing negative patterns of thought and behavior to address psychological issues. It is known for its effectiveness in treating a variety of mental health conditions.
