Professional Counsellor

I see therapy as a confidential, supportive space where you can explore who you are, understand what’s holding you back, and move toward the life you want. My therapeutic style is very much like my personality: down-to-earth, compassionate, warm, and with a healthy sense of humour. I don’t sit in silence behind a blank expression — I show up as a real, human person. I’ll laugh with you, celebrate your progress, and offer honest, grounded reflections when needed. Every person I work with is unique, so I use a blend of evidence-based approaches to understand your experiences and support you in the most effective way. This includes Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/acupressure tapping), which helps soothe the nervous system, reduce emotional intensity, release trauma responses, and improve sleep, eating patterns, and overall wellbeing. I’m also a trained Mindfulness teacher, and I weave practical mindfulness tools into sessions to help you stay centred and develop self-awareness. I believe psychological education is a powerful part of healing. Understanding yourself — your patterns, your nervous system, your triggers — gives you the ability to manage life more confidently long after therapy ends. Alongside professional training, I bring a wealth of life experience and over 20 years of working with people to overcome emotional and physical pain. My aim is to help you feel more balanced, more grounded, and more at peace with yourself. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, overwhelm, loss, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, hopelessness, anger, insomnia, grief, miscarriage, or the impact of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse — you don’t have to face it alone. Healing is possible, and I’m here to support you every step of the way

Personal Touch

My own personal journey through young adulthood and becoming a fully functioning human being with responsibilities has encouraged me to continue to learn and develop myself, learn to accept myself and even like who I am. I didn't do it alone. I have been so grateful to those people who have been in my life at times to learn from them. I am still growing and learning to this day. It can be a beautiful journey if you take the first step.

Client Focus

I work with adults mainly. I also have specialisms in Trauma, Eating Disorders and Weightloss, Anxiety, Stress, physical stress and Grief and Loss.

Background

I've spent 20+ years as a Holistic/Complementary Health Practitioner and counselling has been a natural progression combining the physical elements with the psychological and witnessing first hand how our thoughts and experiences show up in the body, how stress effects us and how we can heal from these developments.

Therapy Approach

My initial approach is humanistic, you're not a clinical case - you're a real person with real issues, and so I'm here to listen, support and relate to you. I use energy techniques such as EFT and ground a lot of work in mindfulness. I also believe psychological education is important along the way, to understand ourselves and others. Most importantly I work to foster a good relationship with yourself.
