Sometimes life can feel a little out of control and unbalanced somehow, when your wellbeing has reached the bottom of your priority pile again. Maybe this is how you are feeling right now. If you would like to be heard and find a space to explore what you are experiencing from the comfort of your own home, using online or telephone counselling, then I would love to help you. Equally I offer face to face work too.
Personal Touch
I'm Wendy, and I work with people to navigate a loss.
I live in beautiful Staffordshire, where I enjoy running and reading.
I like spending time outdoors and drinking earl grey tea.
I don't like fish or coffee.
I chose Saam Counselling Services as the name of my practice because the word Saam means together in Africaans and I believe that this is a true reflection of what a successful counselling relationship looks like.
Client Focus
I work primarily with adults who are mourning a loss. By enabling clients to share their stories, I can help them begin to process the impact of their grief. Loss can present in many ways and it's consequences are equally varied. It is an individual path on journeys we all take at different times, which if you wanted me to, I could accompany you on.
Background
I trained at Waverley Abbey College and was awarded a Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling from Middlesex University. I have since gained a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling too. I qualified in 2019 and have been in private practice since 2020. I also serve as a volunteer counsellor for Stafford and District Bereavement and Loss Support Service.
Therapy Approach
As an integrative counsellor, I combine several approaches to best suit your needs. Some sessions may focus on past experiences, while others might explore the connections between thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and physical health.
